Day 01

Ice Fishing on Lake Kitka

Drive to Adventure Apes Lodge from your accommodation in Kuusamo and meet your tour guide. Attend a safety briefing about ice fishing with your guide.
Take a 10-minute walk to reach Lake Kitka.
Choose your own ice fishing spot and drill a hole through the lake yourself. Your guide will teach you how to use the fishing rod, and then it is all about your secret technique to catch a fish. The most typical fish here are pike and perch.
Learn about the local fish and lake ecology from your tour guide while fishing.
Enjoy a warm drink while fishing.
Walk back to Adventure Apes Lodge after about 2 hours, where the tour ends.
