Jaipur Royal Forts, Palaces, and Heritage Sights
- Arrive in Jaipur and meet your tour guide.
- Travel to Amer Fort, the old capital of the Kachhwahas, which stands atop a range of craggy hills. The fort is remarkable as much for the majestic grandeur of its surroundings as for its sturdy battlements and beautiful palaces.
- Visit Jal Mahal, a small palace set right in the middle of Man Sagar Lake, on the way to Amer.
- See Jaigarh Fort, standing on a hilltop, where the world's biggest cannon on wheels, the Jai Ban, is positioned.
- Check out the majestic Nahargarh Fort, located on a hill about 600 ft. above the city. The fort was built in 1734. Its walls run along the ridge, and within are architectural beauties like Hawa Mandir and Madhvendra Bhawan.
- Explore the City Palace, situated in the heart of the old city. It occupies about one-seventh of the old city area. The palace is a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture and houses the seven-storied Chandra Mahal in the center, which affords a fine view of the gardens and the city. Then visit the adjoining Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum.
- Visit the famous Jantar Mantar, an observatory built in the 18th century by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II. The massive masonry instruments were used to study the movement of constellations and stars in the sky.
