Old City of Jerusalem Trip
- During this tour, explore the Jewish side of Jerusalem’s Old City with its religion, history, culture and archaeology. Visit the Jewish Quarter’s most important site, after which we will walk down to the Wailing Wall to soak up the unique atmosphere of this most important site for the Jewish people.
- The highlights you will be visiting throughout this walking tour are:
- Jaffa Gate is the main tourist entry point to the Old City and one of the seven open gates of Jerusalem’s Old City.
- Tower of David Museum, which is the ancient fortress guarding the entrance to Jerusalem, is home to a unique museum about the history of the Holy City of Jerusalem.
- Market Rooftop lookout point affords a unique and magnificent view over the entire Old City, the Temple Mount & the Mount of Olives.
- Hurva Synagogue, which is considered the most important synagogue in Israel, symbolises the importance of preserving the history of the Jewish people.
- Roman Cardo, which shows the 2000-year old Roman history of Jerusalem.
- Broad Wall, an excavation site that will connect us to the biblical times of King Hezekiah
- Batei Mahse Square, where the residents of the Jewish Quarter were gathered during the 1948 War of Independence before they were evacuated from the Old City.
- Burnt House, showing the Roman destruction of Jerusalem in the 70 AD
- Wailing Wall, the most important religious site to the Jewish people, drawing in pilgrims worldwide.
- The tour will end at the Old City’s Damascus Gate, from where you can either take a short walk back to the Jaffa Gate or use one of the many public transportation options.
