The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arusha to Tarangire National Park Safari

  • After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. Tarangire has a diverse landscape with nine scenic vegetation zones. It is also home to some of Africa's giant baobab trees. The Tarangire River, which passes through the park, attracts abundant wildlife, from elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes and antelopes to various colourful birds. The park is especially famous for having the largest elephant population in Tanzania.
  • Stop for a picnic lunch at an observatory inside the park, where you will be able to observe animals drinking water in the river and, many times, lions attacking a thirsty zebra or wildebeest.

Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

2
Day 02

Full-Day Game Drive in Lake Manyara National Park

  • Pick up from your hotel and embark on a beautiful journey across the Great Rift Valley to Lake Manyara National Park for an exciting full-day game drive. The park has marvellous scenery and is famous for its lush acacia forest, giant figs, mahogany trees, and a growing population of baboons and blue monkeys.
  • This park has a large number of giraffes, elephants, impalas, buffaloes and hippos.
  • Admire the tree-climbing lions, flamingos along the lakeshore, the Ground Hornbill and the Crested Eagle. The game drives along the lake provide attractive photo opportunities of giraffes and buffaloes in the foreground, with the lake and its flamingos in the background.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 03

Journey to Serengeti National Park

  • After an early breakfast, drive towards the most famous national park in the world, the Serengeti, via a picturesque route. You will drive up the crater highlands, with a quick stop at the rim for a fantastic view of the Ngorongoro Crater.
  • As you continue into the Serengeti, you will see why its name means "endless plains" in the local language. Covering 6,900 sq. miles (18,000 sq. km), the plains stretch to the horizon, defying your sense and perception of distance. It is home to 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and all kinds of antelopes, including abundant impalas and Thomson's gazelles. Lions, cheetahs, leopards and hyenas can also be spotted here.

Day 04

Morning and Afternoon Game Drives in Serengeti

  • Enjoy a morning game drive and return to the camp for lunch and relaxation.
  • Proceed with an afternoon game drive, or you can also embark on a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch.

Dinner and overnight.

5
Day 05

Sunrise Safari and Transfer to Ngorongoro

  • Wake up early for an early morning safari before breakfast, when the animals are more active, and enjoy a fantastic sunrise in front of you. Sunrise in the African savannah is one of the most amazing experiences one can have.
  • After the game drive, return to the camp for brunch, followed by a transfer to Ngorongoro, also known as the 8th natural wonder of the world. With walls that are 2,000 ft high and a crater floor spreading across 102 sq. miles, the crater is home to almost every wildlife species indigenous to East Africa, including the rare black rhino. The crater has the densest collection of wildlife on the planet. It contains a river, several swamps, a soda lake full of flamingos, a forest and open plains. The giant bull elephants that reside here have enormous tusks due to the rich mineral content of the volcanic soil and its grasses.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 06

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Return to Arusha

  • After breakfast, descend 600 m into this magnificent crater for a morning game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the densest African wildlife areas in the world and is home to an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania's last black rhinos. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater sustains a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, elands, warthogs, hippos and giant African elephants. Another major draw of this beautiful national park is its dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs and the ever-elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater.
  • Later, slowly head out of the crater and drive toward Arusha town.
