Tarangire National Park and Elephant Encounters
- After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. It has a diverse landscape with nine distinct vegetation zones. The ancient Baobab trees, the largest trees in Africa, overshadow the landscape and dwarf the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River attracts abundant wildlife, from elephants, lions, leopards, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes to various colourful birds. The park is famous for having the greatest elephant population in Tanzania.
- During the safari, you will have the chance to quietly observe many families of elephants interacting, with a stop for an amazing picnic lunch at an observatory inside the park, where you will be able to spot animals drinking water in the river and, many times, lions attacking a thirsty zebra or wildebeest.
Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
