The itinerary

Day 01

Tarangire National Park and Elephant Encounters

  • After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park. It has a diverse landscape with nine vegetation zones. The baobab trees, the largest trees in Africa, dominate the vast landscape and overshadow the animals that reside beneath them. The Tarangire River meanders through the park and attracts abundant wildlife, from elephants, lions, leopards, buffalos, zebras, giraffes, and antelopes to various colourful birds. This park is very famous for having the greatest elephant population in Tanzania.
  • During your safari, have the chance to observe many families of elephants interacting quietly, with a stop for a picnic lunch at an observatory inside the park where you can see animals drinking water in the river, and sometimes lions attacking a thirsty zebra or a wildebeest.

Return to the hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 02

Journey to the Endless Plains of Serengeti

  • After an early breakfast, head towards the most famous national park in the world, the Serengeti. Drive up to the crater highlands, making a quick stop at the rim for an out-of-this-world view of the Ngorongoro Crater.
  • As you continue into the Serengeti, you will understand why it is named so - in the local language, it means "endless plains". The park covers 6,900 sq. miles (18,000 sq. km), and for most of it, the plains stretch to the horizon, defying your senses and perception of distance. It is home to the Great Migration and 2 million wildebeests, thousands of zebras, and all kinds of antelopes, including abundant impalas and Thomson's gazelles. As for big cats and large predators, it is the place of choice to look out for lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 03

Morning and Afternoon Game Drives in Serengeti

  • Enjoy a morning game drive and return to the camp for lunch and relaxation.
  • Proceed with an afternoon game drive, or you can also embark on a full-day game drive with a picnic lunch.

Day 04

Sunrise Safari and Transfer to Ngorongoro

  • Wake up early and proceed on an early morning safari before breakfast.
  • Spot animals when they are relatively more active and enjoy a fantastic sunrise.
  • After the game drive, return to the camp for brunch, followed by a transfer to Ngorongoro, considered the 8th natural wonder of the world. It is home to almost every wildlife species indigenous to East Africa, including the rare black rhino.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 05

Ngorongoro Crater Game Drive and Return to Arusha

  • After breakfast, descend 600 m into this magnificent crater for a morning game drive. Ngorongoro Crater is one of the densest African wildlife areas in the world and houses an estimated 30,000 animals, including some of Tanzania's last black rhinos. Supported by a year-round water supply and fodder, the Ngorongoro Crater supports a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeests, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippos, and giant African elephants. Another big drawcard of this beautiful national park is its dense population of predators, including lions, hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the ever-elusive leopards, which sometimes require a trained eye to spot.
  • Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater.
  • Later, slowly head out of the crater and drive towards Arusha town.
