Day 01

Arrival in Niamey

• Arrive in Niamey, where you will be picked up at the airport and transferred to Hotel Universe for an overnight stay.

Day 02

Kouré National Park Giraffe Tracking and Tapoa

• Leave Niamey after a swift pickup from your hotel and head south by sturdy SUV with bottled water. After about an hour and a half, reach the entrance gate to Kouré National Park, where you will pick up your regional expert from the local community and track the herds of giraffes that wander the park. Once dwindling to a population of only 48, the park now hosts more than 600 uniquely large and gentle animals.
• Stop the car along the way to approach within 5 meters and take photographs. Giraffes are among the only animals in Niger that pose no danger to humans at close range.
• Continue to Hotel De la Tapoa for an overnight stay.

Day 03

W National Park Game Drive and Niger River Views

• Today is your first drive into epic W Park. From your vehicle, spot the diverse fauna of the park.
• Take a break for lunch at a BBQ site with an overlook stretching far into the distance, all the way to the frontier of Burkina Faso and Benin.
• Head to raised lookout platforms to watch elephants come to the waterside to drink and shower themselves.
• Continue with an afternoon drive into the next section of the park for another game drive.

Day 04

Full-Day Wildlife Viewing in W Park

• Enjoy a full day of game driving and animal viewing in the park, with the option of a night walk from your hotel, Hotel de la Tapoa.

Day 05

Return to Niamey

• Set off for Niamey, a 3-hour drive away, and board your flight or check in to your overnight hotel.
