The Sound of Music Filming Sites in Salzburg and the Lake District

  • Meet your local tour guide at a designated point and, after a brief introduction, commence the tour. Visit Mirabell Garden, one of the most important sights in Salzburg. The complex is protected and was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
  • Stroll through Residenzplatz, a large and stately square in the historic centre of Salzburg.
  • See Nonnberg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery and one of the city's most popular places to visit, adjacent to Salzburg Cathedral.
  • Marvel at Schloss Leopoldskron and Schloss Hellbrunn, built in 1613-19 by Markus Sittikus von Hohenems, Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg, and named for the "clear spring" that supplied it.
