Day 01

Cairo to El Minya, Tell Al Amarna and Beni Hassan

• Meet your tour guide in Cairo at 6:00 A.M. and begin the four-hour drive to El Minya.
• Take a motorboat ride to Tal Al Amarna, which preserves the remains of the capital city newly established by Pharaoh Akhenaten during the late 18th Dynasty and abandoned shortly after his death.
• Visit Beni Hassan to see many tombs dating from the Old and Middle Kingdoms.

In the village of Bassaw, you will visit a local's home and stay with him and his family. You will experience a day in Egyptian life and see how they really live.
• Your meals on Eyaru will also reflect the Egyptian spirit. During your stay, all your meals will be authentic Egyptian dishes. While visiting the local markets, you can even buy some fresh ingredients for your dinner that evening or buy some fish and fire up the grill on the patio. You will fully experience Egyptian culture. It is also possible to attend live cooking sessions during dinner and learn local recipes that you can try when you return home.
• Eyaru can be enjoyed all year round because of its main feature, the pergola. The pergola closes over part of the glass terrace, so there is no need to stay indoors during the cold months and miss the picturesque landscapes of the Nile during your stay. That is why Eyaru is the only dahabiya that sails from Luxor to Aswan and vice versa.
• Eyaru has no engines; it is towed remotely by a tugboat, so you never feel any disturbing sounds or vibrations during your trip. And for the first time on the Nile, Eyaru's staff stay overnight on the tugboat, so you can enjoy complete privacy on board.
