3-Day Taita Hills and Tsavo East Tour with Ngangao Forest

• Depart from your residence early in the morning in the company of your guide.
• Drive along the Mombasa-Nairobi Highway, with a pit stop after 2 hours for 30 minutes.
• Proceed to Taita Hills at an elevation of 2200 m.
• Enjoy the scenic, circuitous winding roads while going uphill, with a stop at the scenic Mbenyonyi viewpoint.
• Admire the green scenery, farmlands, banana plantations, coffee farms, and more.
• Visit the cultural centre to learn how local brew is made using local starchy flavours and the dipping of sausage tree fruit, the African kigelia. Try cooking local foods with bananas, beans, and cassava, and prepare meat or vegetables. For every cuisine, join in the traditional dance and many more activities.
• Enjoy a sumptuous lunch with the locals.

Proceed to the hotel or homestay at 17:00 hrs. Enjoy dinner under the skies.

• Go to the Ngangao Forest trail to explore flora and fauna on foot.
• View the endemic Taita violet plants, Taita thrush trees, more wildlife, and the wonderful scenery found there.
• Enjoy a picnic lunch by 11:00 hrs on top of the Ngangao Cliff overlooking Kilimanjaro.
• Proceed to visit cultural shrines and caves. Learn about their rites of passage, how peace was maintained, and how the community defended itself against enemies.

Retire leisurely to the residence.

• Depart for Tsavo East.
• Visit the game park for flora and fauna viewing, then proceed for lunch inside the park with a game view in front of the lodge.
• Continue the safari by 15:30 hrs and then proceed back to the residence.
• Reach back at the residence by 17:00 hrs.
