Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire

   • Meet your safari tour guide at the agreed-upon location and depart early from Arusha town at around 07.30 – 08.00 Hrs. You will drive across a beautiful and scenic Masai Steppe towards Tarangire National Park ( 2 hours).
   • Arrive at the park's gate at Tarangire. Your driver will sort out the paperwork for you.
   • Start the game drives from the gate in a bid to see as many animals and birds as possible. You expect to see elephants, elands, wildebeests, buffaloes, zebras, gerenuks, giraffes and a lot of birds. 
   • Have lunch at one of the picnic sites.
   • Drive out of the park in the afternoon and your guide will take you to Manyara/ Karatu in the Ngorongoro Highlands for dinner and overnight.

2. Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti

   • Have breakfast and head towards the Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. 
   • Descend into the heart of wild Africa – the Serengeti National Park – with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see.
   • Head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River. 
   • Arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park. Elephants, buffaloes, lions, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, topi, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles can be seen in this large national park. 
   • Head to Seronera | Nyani Public Campsite in the central Serengeti for dinner and overnight.

3. Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro

   • Wake up early morning at 6 am and after a hot cup of coffee or tea, leave the camp for morning game viewing to the heart of Serengeti National Park while enjoying the beautiful sunrise. Don’t forget your warm clothes.
   • Continue the game drive till mid-day. 
   • Drive back to camp for full breakfast and lunch (brunch).
   • Spend the half-day exploring wildlife around Serengeti. Often spotted in the Serengeti are elephants, hippos, lions, zebras, wildebeests, cheetahs and leopards.
   • Leave Serengeti for the Ngorongoro Conservation area.
   • Enjoy a game drive en-route Ngorongoro campsite.

   Dinner and overnight stay.

4. Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Excursion

   • Start the day with an early morning game drive before heading to Ngorongoro Conservation Area. 
   • Get a glimpse of the Masai way of life during the drive.
   • Stop at the entrance gate, where there is a chance to learn more about this fascinating volcanic landscape and drive around the rim of the Crater. Look down and see the herd of wildebeest or buffalos.
   • Descend into the crater, the floor of the largest unbroken caldera in the world also called the Ngorongoro Crater. It is home to over 120 species of mammal including the fabled Big Five.
   • Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Hippo Poolside Picnic site where you can also visit a washroom. 
   • Continue with game drives in the afternoon as you head out of the Ngorongoro Crater.
   • Drive out of the park and your guide will take you to Manyara/ Karatu in the Ngorongoro Highlands for dinner.

   Overnight at a Budget Tented Lodge at Manyara/Karatu. 

5. Day 5: Lake Manyara Tour & Back to Arusha

   • Drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a day full of game drives. This is one of Tanzania’s smaller parks but still offers a rewarding and diverse safari experience. The lakeshore at Manyara teems with birdlife, and while you are looking for the birds, you might spot one of the elusive tree-climbing lions.
   • Drive back to Arusha in the late afternoon.
