Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha to Serengeti

   • Pick up from your hotel in Arusha at 8 am and head towards Serengeti National Park. The 240 km drive will be covered in about 5 hrs. Serengeti means endless plains in the local African language. Watching the grassland stretch out as far as the eye can see and eventually merging with the sky at the horizon is absolutely breathtaking.
   • On reaching, look out for the Serengeti “Kopjes”, massive boulders of granite standing in a sea of grass. They provide ample shelter to a large variety of flora and fauna.
   • Go for a day-long game drive and spot the big 5 with a picnic lunch. 

   Dinner & overnight at Serengeti Heritage Camp

2. Day 2: Serengeti National Park to Ngorongoro

   • After a quick breakfast, go on an early morning game drive in the Serengeti. It is the home to the great migration of about 2 million wildebeest every year. The Serengeti also houses the glorious “Big 5” (elephant, rhino, buffalo, lion and leopard). Along with the “Big 5”, see Africa’s most beautiful animal – The Impala. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa. 
   • After completing a half-day game drive and a picnic lunch, head towards the Ngorongoro crater rim.

   Dinner & overnight at Ngorongoro Ang’ata Camp

3. Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha

   • Go for an early morning safari. After a quick breakfast, make an early descend at around 6:30 am into the crater floor. The Ngorongoro crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 sq km with a depth of over 2000 feet. The 5-hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. 
   • Get to see the African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs and Lions. Post the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool; you will begin a steep ascent to the top exit of the crater. Depart for Arusha to reach there at 6 pm.
