Itinerary

1. Day 1: Colombo to Sigiriya

   • Land in Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, where you will meet your tour representative and receive a garland of flowers.
   • Proceed to Habarana. 
   • Check-in a hotel at Sigiriya, and enjoy the rest of the day to relax at your leisure. 

   The duration of the travel is 4 hours.

2. Day 2: Anuradhapura to Mihintale

   • Visit the sacred city of Anuradhapura. Anuradhapura is one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka, famous for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Sri Lankan civilization. The city, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was the center of Theravada Buddhism for many centuries.
   • Go to the Thuparamaya, considered to be the first pagoda built in Sri Lanka, which enshrines the collarbone of the Lord Buddha. You will visit the Lovamahapaya, also known as the Brazen Palace, between the Ruwanvaliseya and Sri Maha Bodhiya.
   • Make your way to Mihintale, a mountain peak near Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka. It is believed by Sri Lankans to be the site of meeting between the Buddhist monk Mahinda and King Devanampiyatissa, which inaugurated the presence of Buddhism in Sri Lanka.

3. Day 3: Sigiriya to Polonnaruwa

   • Visit and climb the famous Sigiriya Rock Fortress. 
   • Stroll through the medieval capital of Polonnaruwa. Polonnaruwa is the second most ancient of Sri Lanka’s kingdoms. The ancient city of Polonnaruwa remains one of the best planned archaeological relic cities in the country, standing testimony to the discipline and greatness of the Kingdom’s first rulers and has been declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO.

   Overnight at the same hotel in Sigiriya. The duration of travel is 6 hours.

4. Day 4: Dambulla to Kandy

   • Leave for Kandy. 
   • Stop by Dambulla Rock Cave Temple on the way.
   • Explore a spice garden and a batik factory before arriving in Kandy, where you’ll check in at the hotel. 
   • Enjoy a performance of Kandyan dance, and visit the Dalada Maligawa (Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic).

5. Day 5: Kandy City Tour & Shopping

   • Go on a tour of the city of Kandy and enjoy souvenir shopping.

6. Day 6: Peradeniya Botanical Garden to Nuwara Eliya

   • Visit the Royal Botanical Garden before continuing to Nuwara Eliya.
   • Stop at a tea factory en route. Afterwards, visit Victoria Park and Gregory Lake.

   Overnight stay at a hotel in Nuwara Eliya. The duration of the travel is 5 hours.

7. Day 7: Ravana Falls to Yala National Park

   • Depart for Tissamaharama. 
   • Visit the 26-foot (8-meter) Ravana waterfalls on the way. Check-in at the hotel, and then leave for a Jeep safari in Yala National Park in the mid-afternoon.

8. Day 8: Galle Fort to Mirissa

   • Transfer to Mirissa. 
   • Visit Hambantota Salterns and the Stilt Fisherman at Weligama en route, followed by the Galle Fort.

9. Day 9: Mirissa

   • Go on a Whale and Dolphin watching tour for 3.5- 4 hours. Whale and Dolphin watching in Mirissa are some of the most thrilling water activities in Sri Lanka. The warm waters around Sri Lanka are ideal for spotting blue whales, Bryde´s whales, sperm whales, fin whales, common dolphins, bottlenose dolphins, and sometimes killer whales. Spinner dolphins, Risso’s dolphins, and striped dolphins can be seen too.

   Rest of the day leisure at the beach and overnight stay at the same hotel in Mirissa.

10. Day 10: Departure

    • Depart for Bandaranaike International Airport in time to catch your flight.
