Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arusha -Tarangire National Park

   • Pick up from the hotel in Arusha and travel to Tarangire National Park, known for its large elephant herds.

   • Drive through the seasonal swamps, savannah, and Tarangire River in search of zebras, wildebeests, lions, buffaloes, hartebeest, elephants, giraffes, waterbuck, and reedbucks.

   Dinner and overnight stay at a lodge. 

2. Day 2: Tarangire National Park - Ngorongoro Conservation Area

   • Check out of the lodge at Tarangire National Park and drive via the Rift Valley to the cooler regions of the Ngorongoro highlands. 

   • Explore the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest volcanic caldera, almost 20km wide, approximately 600 m deep.

   • Discover the large variety of wildlife, including the “Big Five” – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. The various springs on the caldera floor attract wildebeest, gazelles, reedbucks, and more than 500 bird species.

   Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

3. Day 3: Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Lake Manyara National Park - Arusha

   • Travel to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park 120 km west of Arusha, home to thousands of flamingos and over 500 other bird species.

   • Look for monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, elephants, and with some luck, lions lounging in the trees with the Tanzanian safari guide.

   • Check out the lodge and depart for Arusha.
