Day 01

Arrival in Sri Lanka – Transfer to Negombo

Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to the coastal town of Negombo. Located along Sri Lanka’s western shoreline, Negombo is famous for its fishing traditions, colonial heritage, and palm-fringed beaches. After your international flight, enjoy a relaxed day settling into your hotel and preparing for the cycling adventure ahead. The remainder of the day is free to unwind, stroll along the beach, or explore the lively seaside atmosphere.

Day 02

Negombo to Chilaw Cycling Ride – Transfer to Sigiriya

(Cycling Distance: Approx. 80 km)

After breakfast, begin your first cycling experience along Sri Lanka’s western coastal belt. Ride through traditional fishing villages, coconut estates, lagoons, and rural settlements as you make your way toward Chilaw. The route offers relatively flat terrain, making it an ideal introduction to cycling in Sri Lanka while showcasing authentic local life. Following the ride, continue to Sigiriya, the heart of Sri Lanka’s Cultural Triangle, surrounded by forests, lakes, and ancient heritage sites.

Day 03

Sigiriya, Minneriya & Polonnaruwa Cycling Loop

(Cycling Distance: Approx. 80 km)

Today combines culture, wildlife, and adventure. Cycle through the beautiful landscapes surrounding Minneriya, Higurakgoda, and Polonnaruwa while passing reservoirs, farming communities, and ancient irrigation systems. The route offers excellent opportunities to observe rural life and birdlife. Those interested may also climb the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress or explore the impressive ruins of Polonnaruwa. In the afternoon, an optional Minneriya Safari provides opportunities to observe wild elephants and other wildlife in their natural habitat.

Today's ride takes you away from the Cultural Triangle and into the scenic eastern countryside. Cycle through Bakamuna, Elahera, and Hasalaka, passing forests, reservoirs, paddy fields, and traditional farming villages. This route offers a peaceful cycling experience away from busy roads, allowing you to appreciate the slower pace of rural Sri Lanka. Arrive in Mahiyanganaya, one of the island’s oldest settlements and an important cultural destination surrounded by beautiful landscapes.

The journey passes through Hunnasgiriya and the foothills of the Knuckles Mountain Range, offering spectacular scenery and rewarding climbs. As the elevation increases, enjoy panoramic views across valleys, forests, and mountain landscapes. Arrive in Kandy, a UNESCO World Heritage City and the last royal capital of Sri Lanka.

Ride through Hanthana and Galaha, where winding roads pass tea estates, forests, and breathtaking viewpoints. This shorter ride provides an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of Sri Lanka’s hill country at a relaxed pace. The afternoon can be spent exploring Kandy’s cultural attractions, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the Royal Botanical Gardens.

The route passes countless tea estates, waterfalls, and colonial-era settlements before reaching Nuwara Eliya, often referred to as “Little England” due to its unique architecture and temperate climate.
