Explore Vardzia, Tmogvi, Gelsunda, Nijgori, and Saro on a 3-day trip from Tbilisi. Travel through Borjomi and Akhaltsikhe to the cave town of Vardzia, then trek to the fortress ruins of Tmogvi and continue through Zeda Tmogvi, the Gelsunda caves, Khertvisi, and Nijgori. Along the way, see old settlements, the ruins of a mosque, and a 12th-century church, with nights spent in tents, caves, or near the canyon. The trip ends with a short excursion to Saro and Toloshi before returning to Tbilisi via Paravani Lake.

Transfer to Tbilisi by another road, passing Paravani Lake.
