Day 01

Belgrade Underground Tunnels and Ancient Sights

Visit the following places:

• Roman Hall, in the City Library basement, featuring an exhibition of the Roman water supply system and an underground aqueduct.

• The Inner Stambol Gate, the entrance to the Kalemegdan keep.

• The Roman Well, with stairs descending to a depth of 61 m.

• A German underground military bunker, later used for Yugoslav defence against a Soviet invasion.

• An underground gunpowder warehouse, a former nightclub space, with Roman monuments and first Christian graves.

• The underground passage from Kosančićev Venac Square to the winery's backyard, the last spot on this tour.
