Observatory Experience
- Visit the residence of a Chilean astronomer who has built the closest private observatory to Santiago in the Andes' foothills. The evening will include a talk about the stars and constellations seen in the Southern Hemisphere. Then, you will be able to look into the Universe through various telescopes both before and after sunset. Depending on the time of year, you will see different planets, stars, clusters, and nebulae. Venus and Mercury are almost always seen. We may also see Jupiter and its moons in permanent motion, Mars, and Saturn with its rings.
- Afterwards, you will be served wine and an assortment of cheeses and snacks as you discuss the marvellous wonders you have seen in the Chilean skies and continue to stargaze.
