Day 01
Early Morning Birdwatching in Zambezi National Park
- Set out on a birdwatching excursion in the early hours of the morning at Zambezi National Park.
- See endemic bird species such as Schalow's Turaco, the Collared Palm Thrush, the Ashly Fly Catcher, the Trumpeter Horn Bill, and the Bat Hawk. As the African sunrise lights up the Zambezi River, hear the songs of these birds as the adjoining area comes to life.
- See the Victoria Falls' spray glitter as you learn how to track birds from your Zimbabwe tour guide. Look out for the African Fin Foot floating down the river.
- A stop for breakfast will be made, where you will have bush-cooked food prepared by your Zimbabwe tour guide. See the Giant King Fisher or the beautiful malachite King Fisher sitting on a straw of reed along the river.
- After breakfast, chase high-flyers like the Tawny Eagle, Western Banded Snake Eagle, Martial Eagle, and several species of vultures, all of which will be in the sky by this time. The melodious Bearded Scrub-Robin or the White borrowed Scrub-Robin will provide the entertainment as the morning winds down.
