Tour Cairo's many facets
- Coptic Cairo: Our Egyptology guide will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza on time. Drive to Old Cairo which is also known as 'Christian Coptic Cairo', which is among the most important locations visited by the Holy Family; where the spiritual impact of their presence is still felt. The first stop will be the Hanging Church, named for its location above a gatehouse of Babylon Fortress, which is one of the oldest churches in the world. Then you will get inside the Synagogue of Ben Ezra, where you will know more about the birth of Moses and Hebrew Culture and tradition. Enter the Church of Abu Sergah (St. Sergius), the whole area of the Fort of Babylon, a destination of pilgrimage not only for the Egyptians but for Christians from around the world. Also there you will have a chance to visit St. Barbara Church.
- Mosque of Amr Ibn El-Aas: Then, we continue our day tour to Islamic Cairo that was founded in 641 A.D by the first Muslim leader Amr Ibn Elas. Over there in Islamic Cairo, you will be able to visit and enter some of the mosques such as Amr Ibn Elaas Mosque, which is the very first mosque built in Egypt.
- Mosque and Madrasa of Sultan Hassan: Enjoy an amazing tour inside one of the largest mosques in Egypt (Sultan Hassan Mosque).
- Cairo Citadel: Continue, towards the Citadel of Salah El Din, built on famous hill Al Moqattam in Cairo, that was constructed for military purposes, for protecting Cairo from incoming threats. Since then, it became a residence of the king of Egypt for many centuries. Step inside the beautiful Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali; built inside the castle in the 19th century. Take special photos from the Citadel panorama. The political event called “Massacre of the Citadel” happened in the Citadel in 1811, where Mohamed Ali, the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849) murdered Mameluke leaders in Qaser El Gawhara palace, and it’s not currently open for visits.
- Khan Al-Khalili: Khan el-Khalili is one of the world’s largest bazaars, and offers a truly authentic local Cairo experience. Among the world’s oldest bazaars, dating back to 1382, Khan el-Khalili offers an experience unique to the old streets of Islamic Cairo, and affords the opportunity to engage with locals, as locals do, hunting for bargains and relaxing with a coffee as the hustle of the bazaar passes you by. The numerous shops in this district are known for trading fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, antiques and much more
