The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Addis Ababa

After arriving in Addis Ababa, transfer to the hotel. If you arrive in the morning, we can arrange an optional Addis Ababa tour.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02

Fly to Gondar and Drive to Sankabar

After flying from Addis to Gondar, drive 136 km north to Sankabar.

Overnight camping.

Day 03

Trek from Sankabar to Geech

Trek for 5 to 6 hours from Sankabar to Geech while enjoying the stunning views en route.

Overnight camping.

Day 04

Excursion to Imet Gogo

Make an excursion of around 6 hours to Imet Gogo and enjoy one of the best views of Simien Mountains National Park.

Overnight camping.

Day 05

Trek to Chenek

Trek for 7 hours to Chenek and spot some endemic mammals, including the Walia ibex.

Overnight camping.

Day 06

Climb Buhit Mountain and Trek to Ambiqo

Climb Buhit Mountain, the second-highest peak after Ras Dashen in the Simien Mountain ranges, and continue trekking for 6-8 hours from Chenek to Ambiqo.

Overnight camping.

Day 07

Climb Ras Dashen

Continue trekking for 7-9 hours from Ambiqo and climb Ras Dashen, the highest peak in Ethiopia, before returning to Ambiqo.

Overnight camping.

Day 08

Trek Back to Chenek

Start trekking for 6-8 hours back to Chenek. En route, you may see some Simien foxes or Ethiopian wolves.

Overnight camping.

Day 09

Drive to Gondar and Sightseeing

Drive back to Gondar and enjoy the rest of the day on a sightseeing tour of Gondar.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10

Return to Addis Ababa and Farewell

After flying back to Addis Ababa, you can go on an optional city tour to enjoy its beautiful sights.
There will be a farewell dinner party in the evening with a traditional music show, if the flight schedule permits.
Transfer to Addis Ababa airport for your flight back at the end of the farewell dinner, completing the tour.
