The itinerary

Day 01

Nairobi to Masai Mara via the Great Rift Valley

• Pick up from your Nairobi hotel after breakfast or upon landing at the airport. After a short briefing, head to Masai Mara National Reserve.
• Make a short stop at the Great Rift Valley. Drink some water and learn about the history and formation of the Great Rift Valley.
• Proceed to Masai Mara with magnificent views of Mount Longonot, arriving at the lodge in time for lunch.
• In the afternoon, begin your first introductory game drive, tracking the various animal species and birds that inhabit the reserve with your driver-guide until sunset.

Day 02

Full-Day Masai Mara Game Drive and Mara River Visit

• After breakfast at the lodge, depart at 0800 am with picnic lunches in hand for an extensive game drive. The landscape here is scenic savanna grassland on rolling hills. This reserve is the best park for game viewing in Kenya, with an extensive road and track network that allows for close-range viewing and photography.
• Visit the Mara River, a key migration point and a great place to spot crocodiles and hippopotamuses, then break for a picnic.
• Continue the game drive until 1700 hrs, after which you will leave the park for two hours of optional activities.

Day 03

Morning Game Drive and Return to Nairobi

• Wake up for an early breakfast, then check out of your lodge and enjoy a game drive en route to Nairobi. Have lunch on the way and arrive in Nairobi in time for drop-off at the airport or your Nairobi hotel.
