Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Negombo

   • Pick-up from the airport; transfer to Negombo. Relax on Negombo's beaches and explore the local fish market. 

   Overnight stay at Jetwing Sea or a similar hotel in Negombo.

2. Day 2: Negombo - Kandy

   • Travel to Kandy; stop at the Pinnawala elephant orphanage en-route. See milk feeding & elephant bathing at the orphanage.
   • Enjoy Kandyan dancing event in the evening between 5.00 PM and 6.00 PM. 
   • Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic. The most sacred molar tooth of Lord Buddha is placed here, under a golden ceiling.

   Overnight stay at Amaya Hills or a similar hotel in Kandy.

3. Day 3: Kandy - Sigiriya

   • Pick-up from accommodation at 6:00 AM, drive towards the Sri Muththu Mari Amman temple, the tallest and most colourful Hindu temple in the region. 
   • Next, reach the Dambulla cave Temple, the largest, and best-preserved temple complex in Sri Lanka. There are about 153 Buddha statues and murals in this complex which was built by King Walamba during the 1st century. 
   • Proceed to Sigiriya, tour the ancient village life, and observe the community's day to day life through various activities: oxen cart rides, catamaran rides, walks in paddy fields. See a demonstration of traditional Sri Lankan food being prepared, and enjoy the meal with locals. 
   • Visit the eighth wonder of the world: see huge walls, water canals, security guard rooms, natural stone arches, mirror stone, and world-famous Sigiri paintings. It is an isolated rock kingdom more than 200 m high. You have to spend more than two and a half hours here, to take in the beauty of the place.

   Overnight stay at Amaya Lake or similar hotel in Dambulla.

4. Day 4: Sigiriya - Wilpattu

   • Take an hour-long hot air balloon ride with the expert crew at Dambulla beginning with the sunrise; float over the jungle, lakes, wildlife habitats, and ancient villages.
   • Next, visit the Wilpattu national park, the largest national wildlife reservoir in Sri Lanka, for a jeep safari that starts at 2.00 PM. Here, see natural habitats of wild animals and the indigenous Sri Lankan leopard and Sri Lankan sloth bear. return to your hotel after 3-4 hours. 

   Overnight stay at The Back Waters Lodge or a similar hotel in Wilpattu.

5. Day 5: Departure

   • There will be no touring on this day; get dropped off at the airport.
