Day 01
Pink Lake Adventure and Noflaye Tortoises Reserve
- Get picked up at the agreed-upon location and cross the Senegalese suburbs.
- Stop at a local market to observe locals doing their daily shopping.
- Watch them carrying calabashes or baskets while shopping, something distinctly Senegalese.
- Click portraits of locals dressed in their African attire and capture scenes of their daily activities.
- Visit the Pink Lake, which is ten times saltier than the ocean and takes on a pink hue when the weather is sunny and windy.
- Take a Jeep tour around the lake.
- See the salt harvesters and drive along what used to be the Dakar Rally tracks, as well as the dunes and the beach.
- Relax with a swim and float in the lake.
- Have lunch at Chez Salim Hotel and then head to Noflaye Tortoises Village, the Botanic Tortoises Reserve.
- Learn about the tortoises and the purpose of the reserve - to protect and reintroduce tortoises in areas where they have completely vanished.
- Get dropped off at your hotel or any other preferred location.
