Our journey begins at the iconic Malang Railway Station, a historic transportation hub that marked Malang’s importance during the Dutch colonial era. From here, we explore the elegant urban planning that shaped the city into what was once known as the “Paris of East Java.”
We continue to the grand Malang City Hall, a symbol of governance surrounded by a picturesque European-style district. Along the way, your guide will share stories of colonial life, independence movements, and how Malang evolved into a vibrant educational and cultural city.
A stop at the beautiful Hotel Tugu Malang offers insight into the artistic and cultural soul of the city, where Javanese heritage meets colonial elegance.
We then immerse ourselves in local daily life at Pasar Splendid, a lively traditional market filled with colors, flavors, and authentic interactions. This is where you experience the real rhythm of Malang.
No heritage walk is complete without visiting Toko Oen, a legendary colonial-era café established in 1930. Here, you can enjoy nostalgic architecture and, if you wish, taste their famous homemade ice cream (personal expense).
We also visit the impressive Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, an architectural landmark that reflects the city’s multicultural and spiritual diversity.
Our tour concludes at the peaceful Alun-Alun Kota Malang, the central square where locals gather, relax, and connect — a perfect place to reflect on the journey and absorb the atmosphere of the city.
