3-Day Lahore Sightseeing Tour with Wagah Border Ceremony

Take some rest and then proceed to Wagah Border with a local expert guide.

Attend the flag ceremony at Wagah Border. Witness the Indian military and the Pakistani Rangers stepping out to the cheers of thousands of spectators. While one side screams "Pakistan Zindabad" or "Long live Pakistan," the other shouts "Jai Hind" or "Long live India."

Transfer back to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, visit Badshahi Mosque, the largest globally, with a capacity of 100,000 worshippers on its grounds. It dwarfed the Taj Mahal, a structure that could fit inside the massive courtyard.

The next highlight is Lahore Fort, notable for having been almost entirely rebuilt in the 17th century, when the Mughal Empire was at the height of its splendour and opulence. After the fall of the Mughal Empire, Lahore Fort was used as the residence of Emperor Ranjit Singh, founder of the Sikh Empire.

Proceed to the Tomb of Allama Iqbal, dedicated to Iqbal, a poet-philosopher whose work promoted the philosophy of self-hood and dealt with the intellectual and cultural reconstruction of the Islamic world.

After breakfast, drive to the National History Museum, which contains one of the finest Buddhist art collections from the Gandhara period.

View the original Fasting Buddha (Shakyamuni) statue. After reaching enlightenment at Bodhgaya, Shakyamuni meditated and fasted for forty-nine days. Thus, showing him as an emaciated renouncer relates to his enlightenment and status as a yogic ascetic who has ultimate control over his body.

Proceed towards the front of the museum to see Zam-Zama, the gun immortalised by Rudyard Kipling, and the campus of Punjab University.

In the afternoon, transfer to the airport to board your onward destination flight.
