Day 01

Nairobi to Lake Baringo Bird-Watching Experience

  • After breakfast, depart from Nairobi and drive to Lake Baringo, a well-known destination for birdwatchers and home to over 500 bird species.

  • Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and visit Lake Baringo, the freshwater lake, where you can see the Tuyen hills, an uplifted fault of volcanic and metamorphic rocks that lies to its west, and the Laikipia Escarpment to its east.

  • Explore the lake by boat and spot different varieties of birds, hippos, crocodiles, zebra, klipspringer, Grant's gazelle, Chandler's mountain reedbuck, and the rare greater kudu.

  • Return to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 02

Bird-Watching, Islands, and Pokot Culture at Lake Baringo

  • After breakfast, go for a bird-watching walk and see different birds and wildlife.

  • Take a boat to discover the six tiny, hidden islands surrounding the lake.

  • Visit the local Pokot tribes, who live on the shores and the islands of the lake.

Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 03

Lake Bogoria Hot Springs, Flamingos, and Return to Nairobi

  • Depart from Lake Baringo and drive to Lake Bogoria, considered one of Kenya's most beautiful lakes and home to over 350 species of birds.

  • Upon arrival, have lunch and head to the hot springs of Lake Bogoria, which is also well known for its geysers and as the home to the world's largest populations of flamingos. Spot leopard tortoises, impala, dik-dik, zebra, Grant's gazelle, and warthog, along with different birds.

  • By evening, depart for Nairobi.
