4-Day Fann Mountains Tour from Dushanbe with Seven Lakes

• Drive to Panjakent early in the morning via the Istiqlol Tunnel. Panjakent is located in the Zarafshon River valley in the north of Tajikistan.
• See the Fann Mountains, the highest part of the Zarafshon Range and one of Tajikistan's most popular tourism and mountain-climbing areas. You will also visit Sarazm, one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, 5500 years old and a UNESCO site, as well as the Museum of Rudaki, the founder of Persian literature. Panjakent was once one of the cultural and craft centres of Soghd and was even named the "Central Asian Pompeii," of which only dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and the fire worshipers' church remain.
• Today, you will have an opportunity to try the traditional pilaf of Panjakent.

• From Panjakent, travel to the Seven Lakes (Marquzor Lakes), a beautiful wilderness with perfectly calm lakes. They are one of Central Asia's most popular hiking areas. The Seven Lakes are located in the Fann Mountains, in the gorge of the Shing River. The lowest lies at an altitude of 1640 meters above sea level, and the last is at around 2400 meters. The lakes are beautiful and each differs in colour.

• Depart the Seven Lakes and travel to Iskandarkul, approximately a 6-hour drive through spectacular mountain scenery. It is one of the most beautiful lakes in Tajikistan, at an altitude of 2195 m. Lake Iskandarkul was named after Alexander the Great, who allegedly visited here on his way from Central Asia to India.
• After arriving at the lake, walk along its shores, a fantastic place to rest.
• You will then hike to see a waterfall called the "Fann Niagara," which falls from a height of 38 meters. You will also visit Kuli Moron (Snakes Lake).

• Return to Dushanbe via the Anzob Pass (3372 m).
• En route, witness spectacular mountain scenery, with more time to take pictures. Your journey through the Fann Mountains comes to an end.
