Dushanbe to Panjakent via Sarazm
- Drive to Panjakent early in the morning via the Istiqlol Tunnel. Panjakent is located in the Zarafshon River valley in the north of Tajikistan.
- See the Fann Mountains, the highest part of the Zarafshon Range and one of Tajikistan's most popular tourism and mountain-climbing areas. You will also visit Sarazm, one of the oldest cities in Central Asia, 5500 years old and a UNESCO site, as well as the Museum of Rudaki, the founder of Persian literature. Panjakent was once one of the cultural and craft centres of Soghd and was even named the "Central Asian Pompeii," of which only dwelling houses and office buildings, the citadel with the palace, the house of craftsmen, and the fire worshipers' church remain.
- Today, you will have an opportunity to try the traditional pilaf of Panjakent.
