5-Day Tanzania Safari to Ngorongoro, Tarangire and a Maasai Village

• You will be picked up from Kilimanjaro Airport by your tour guide and transferred to Arusha for an overnight stay. Depending on your arrival time, the drive takes about two hours. On the way to Arusha, if the skies are clear, you might be lucky enough to spot both Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru, as well as different species of fauna and flora.

• Arrive in Arusha, where you will be briefed about the upcoming trip. Your hotel will be fully booked.

Overnight at the hotel.

• Drive from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The road leads you over the Great Rift Valley and through the crater forest. This collapsed volcano is the main feature of the area and creates a unique ecosystem with a wide variety of vegetation.

• Enjoy the beautiful colours of the landscapes and the diversity of animals. The crater is home to the highest concentration of wildlife in Africa and is filled with elephants, lions, buffaloes, hippos, and even the rare black rhino. This is one of the best places to spot all of the Big Five.

Overnight at Marera Valley Lodge.

• After breakfast, depart for Tarangire National Park to enjoy a full-day game drive. Since this is one of the lesser-known parks in Tanzania, it still has an authentic safari atmosphere. The hilly landscape, with majestic Baobab trees against the blue sky, is breathtaking. Witness the world's largest concentration of elephants. Sometimes herds of up to 300 elephants can be seen around the Tarangire River, drinking or enjoying a mud bath. Apart from elephants, Tarangire is a paradise for bird lovers.

• In the area around these swamps, you can also see lions, leopards, cheetahs, and even tree-climbing pythons.

Overnight at Sangaiwe Tented Lodge.

• Today will be at leisure to relax or explore. Spend a few hours in the park before you leave to see the wonders of Tarangire.

Overnight at Monduli.

• Wake up early in the morning and, after a delicious breakfast, make your way to the Maasai village. Here, you will learn a lot about the Maasai, their social life, their mutual relations with other societies around them, their dancing style, and much more.

• Drive back to Arusha for departure or otherwise according to your next plan.
