5-Day Nile Cruise Tour from Luxor to Aswan with Abu Simbel Option

• You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the airport to board a flight to Luxor. On arrival in Luxor, you will find your guide waiting for you.

• Visit Luxor Temple to see its courtyard and the granite statues of Ramses the Great.

• Proceed to Karnak, a vast series of temples built during different reigns.

• After the Avenue of Sphinxes, visit the Unfinished Propylon, the Hypostyle Hall with its 134 gigantic columns, the obelisks of Queen Hatshepsut and Tuthmosis III, the Temple of Amon adorned with lotus and papyrus designs, the Granite Scarabeus of Amenophis III, and the Sacred Lake. Then transfer to the cruise.

• See a belly dance show at night. You can also attend the Sound & Light Laser Show at Karnak Temple (optional).

• After breakfast, visit the West Bank, crossing the Nile and driving to the Valley of the Kings. See the tombs of various dynasties, with an optional visit to King Tut's tomb and the Temple of Deir El Bahari.

• On the return journey, stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two gigantic seated statues representing Amenophis III facing the Nile.

• Then sail to Esna and attend a disco party at night.

• After breakfast on board, visit the Temple of Horus in Edfu and then sail to Kom Ombo.

• After lunch, visit the temple shared by the two gods, Sobek and Haroeies, in Kom Ombo.

• Have breakfast on board and then sail to Aswan. Visit the High Dam, which was completed in 1964. From here, you can gaze across Lake Nasser.

• Visit the temple that was removed from its original island of Philae, which lies submerged for most of the year by the waters of Lake Nasser. The main Temple of Isis and its monuments were built between the 26th Dynasty and the Roman period.

• Go for an optional visit to the Temples of Abu Simbel. The colossal Temple of Abu Simbel was built by Ramses II (XIXth Dynasty) and was later saved from inundation by the Nile waters among the glories of ancient Egyptian monuments. The temples were built out of a sandstone rock cliff, and the representations of the deities to which each was dedicated are carved on its huge facade. Nearby, also saved, lies the small Temple of the king's wife Nefertari, dedicated to the goddess Hathor.

• After the visit, return to Aswan.
