Temples of Abydos and Dendara
Meet your guide at around 6:00 am at your chosen place in Luxor to start your day trip.
Drive to Abydos to explore the memorial temple of Seti I. Here, you can admire an impressive number of cartouches- these are a list of the pharaohs of the main dynasties. You can notice the reliefs of the building which are exceptionally well-preserved.
Head to Qena, a city that hosts Dendera Temple. Dedicated to Hathor, the Goddess of love, beauty and music, this temple is famous for its zodiac: a sculpted representation of Taurus and Libra. The original zodiac is considered to have been stolen by French soldiers during the Napoleonic campaign and is now displayed in the Louvre Museum. Thus, you can only admire a replica.
During your excursion, your Egyptologist guide will provide you with all the information you need to understand the history of these great temples and Ancient Egypt. You will of course have plenty of time to take memorable pictures on these unique sites.
At the end of the tour, drive back to Luxor and be dropped off at your chosen place.
