Set out on this 9-day tour to see more than 400 bird species and animals in their natural habitats in Tanzania, including the Big Five - lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros. Visit wildlife-rich areas such as Saadani National Park, Amani Nature Reserve, Magamba Nature Forest Reserve, and Mkomazi National Park, where you may spot birds and animals like Martial Eagle, Ostrich, weavers, Kori Bustard, hippo, hyena, vervet monkeys, and colobus monkeys. This journey combines birding and animal viewing across the coast, forest reserves, and national parks of Tanzania.

Day by day
Meet the tour guide at Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere Airport, who will give you a short briefing about the trip.
Start driving along Bagamoyo Road after the briefing.
Have dinner and stay overnight at Bagamoyo Hotel.
Wake up at 06:00 am and have coffee at the lodge.
Go birdwatching around the hotel backyard.
Start driving toward Saadani National Park for a game drive, and enjoy birdwatching and animal viewing in the national park.
Have lunch inside the national park, then continue birding after lunch until 04:00 pm.
Drive to Pangani, where you will stay overnight.
After breakfast at the lodge, drive towards Muheza to visit Amani Nature Reserve.
Go birding on the way, and then have lunch at Amani Nature Reserve.
Spend the day birding in Amani Forest, savour dinner, and afterwards go out to spot owls.
Overnight at Amani Field Center.
Enjoy a full day of birding at Amani Nature Reserve.
Overnight at Amani Field Center.
Wake up at 06:00 am and do birding around the lodge before breakfast.
Start driving to West Usambara, and have lunch on the way to Lushoto.
Dinner and overnight at Lawn's Hotel.
Enjoy a full day of birding at Magamba Nature Forest Reserve.
Have breakfast at the hotel at 06:00 am, then leave the hotel at 07:00 am and drive towards Moshi Road.
Do birding all the way to the same town. It will be a day for dry-country species around the Mkomazi area.
Overnight at Elephant Motel.
Have breakfast and lunch inside the national park, as most of the time will be spent birding and animal viewing.
Start driving back to the accommodation at around 06:00 pm.
Have dinner and review the trip and the experience.
Embark on a long day of driving, and stop for new bird species along the way.
Have lunch at Wami River and do birding along the river.
Drive to Dar es Salaam via Bagamoyo Road after lunch.
Ride back to the accommodation and enjoy dinner with the guide.
End of the tour.

The route starts from Dar es Salaam, Bagamoyo, Saadani National Park, Pangani, Amani Nature Reserve, Lushoto, same (Mkomazi National Park), Korogwe, Segera, Mkata, and then back to Dar es Salaam.
