5-Day Winter W Trek in Torres del Paine with Grey Glacier Views

6:00 am: Depart from Puerto Natales and travel to Torres del Paine National Park, with at least 2 hours of driving.

8:00 am: Arrive at Torres del Paine and start the hike from Hostería Las Torres to Chileno Campground, covering 4.5 km uphill.

9:30 am: Arrive at Chileno Campground. Here, have some snacks, set up base camp, and afterwards continue the rest of the way up.

11:00 am: Start hiking up to the famous Las Torres Lookout, another 4.5 km uphill.

1:30 pm: Arrive at Las Torres Lookout. Stay here for an hour to enjoy the views and have lunch.

2:30 pm: Start the return to base camp in Chileno.

4:30 pm: Arrive at Chileno Campground.

6:00 pm: Have dinner and receive brief instructions for the next day.

7:30 am: Start from Chileno Campground and hike to Italiano Campground, covering a distance of 21 km.

9:00 am: Arrive at Laguna Inge for a 30-minute stop for snacks and pictures.

11:00 am: Arrive at Río el Arriero, a place to rest and take pictures.

12:30 pm: Arrive at Los Cuernos Campground and have lunch here.

1:30 pm: Start hiking to Italiano Campground, a 5.5 km section with both uphill and downhill stretches.

4:00 pm: Arrive at Italiano Campground, at the beginning of the famous French Valley, and set up base camp here.

6:00 pm: Have dinner and receive brief instructions for the next day.

7:30 am: Start early in the morning from Italiano Campground and hike uphill toward Británico Mountain Shelter, covering around 6 km.

8:30 am: Arrive at the first lookout facing the French Glacier. At this time, it will probably still be dark, and you may be able to see it better on the way back.

10:00 am: Arrive at Británico Mountain Shelter, a very basic shed made of lenga wood. There will be no stop here because there are no good mountain views.

10:30 am: Arrive at Británico Lookout, one of the best viewpoints of the trip. Stay here for an hour to rest, have lunch, and take pictures.

11:30 am: Start the way back to base camp.

1:00 pm: Arrive once again at the first lookout. At this time, the amazing French Glacier and the stunning Paine Grande Mountain are much better than in the morning.

2:00 pm: Arrive at base camp. Set up camp as quickly as possible to take advantage of the sunlight for the rest of the route, and after setting up, have a quick snack before starting again.

3:00 pm: Start the hike to Paine Grande Refuge, covering 7.6 km.

5:30 pm: Arrive at Paine Grande Refuge.

7:00 pm: Have dinner and receive brief instructions for the next day.

8:00 am: Start the hike from Paine Grande Refuge to the Grey Glacier Lookout, covering 11 km each way and 22 km round trip.

9:00 am: Arrive at Laguna Los Patos and make a quick stop for pictures.

10:00 am: Arrive at the first Grey Glacier Lookout on the way. Stop here for pictures and some snacks.

11:30 am: Arrive at the main Grey Glacier Lookout. Stay here for an hour to enjoy the panoramic view and have a well-deserved lunch.

12:30 pm: Start the return to Paine Grande Refuge. Keep in mind that the way back is a bit harder because the trail is steeper in some sections. During this part of the hike, make stops before the uphill stretches to rest.

4:30 pm: Arrive at Paine Grande Refuge.

6:00 pm: Have dinner and receive brief instructions for the final day.

9:00 am: Start the hike from Paine Grande Refuge along Las Carretas Trail, heading south to the national park administration center, where a transfer will pick you up.

10:00 am: Arrive at Pehoé Lake Lookout, a place to rest and take pictures.

11:30 am: Arrive at Las Carretas shelter and have lunch.

12:30 pm: Start the hike up to the administration center.

2:30 pm: Arrive at the administration center and begin the drive back to Puerto Natales, which takes at least 2 hours.

4:30 pm: Arrive in Puerto Natales for drop-off at your accommodation.

5:00 pm: End of services.
