The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival at Kilimanjaro Airport and Transfer to Arusha

Upon arrival, meet the representative at JRO and transfer to your lodge in Arusha.

Dinner and overnight in Arusha.

Day 02

Arusha to Machame Camp via Park Gate

Early in the morning, transfer to the Machame Park Gate.
After registering with the park authority, begin your climb through the lush forest.
Continue through beautiful heathland before reaching your overnight camp at Machame Camp.

Day 03

Machame Camp to Shira Camp Across Moorland

Today's ascent continues across the heathland and alpine moorland, with magnificent views of Kilimanjaro Peak.

Overnight at Shira Camp.

Day 04

Shira Camp to Barranco Camp via Lava Tower

Draw nearer to the peak as you pass the Lava Tower with your Mount Kilimanjaro hiking guide.
The trek becomes a bit more strenuous as the trail steepens on the approach to your overnight stop at Barranco Camp.

Day 05

Barranco Camp to Karanga Valley Camp

The day begins with a descent into the gorge before climbing its eastern wall and enjoying views of Kilimanjaro's ice fields, an equatorial anomaly.
Continue trekking until you reach your camp in Karanga Valley.

Day 06

Karanga Valley Camp to Barafu Camp

Trek up through the Karanga Valley, following the lava ridge to Barafu Camp, where you will stay overnight.

Day 07

Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak and Descent to Mweka Camp

Just after midnight, begin your summit attempt, passing between the Rebmann and Tarzel glaciers to the rim at Stella Point.
As dawn nears, summit at Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa at 19,340 feet. Uhuru will be the culmination of - and the reward for - 6-7 hours of strenuous hiking.
Then descend back to Barafu Camp, resting for a while before continuing your descent to Mweka Camp.
