The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Lhasa and Hotel Transfer

  • Enjoy a short flight into Tibet, offering a panorama of the snowy Himalayan ranges and the snow-covered Tibetan plateau. If you take the train to Tibet, it emerges onto the high plateau by crossing the mighty Tanggula Pass (5076 m), bringing you to Lhasa with beautiful scenery along the route.

  • Meet your Tibetan guide at Gonggar Airport or Lhasa Train Station.

  • Transfer to your hotel in Lhasa city. Lhasa Airport is about 60 km away, and the journey takes less than an hour along the recently built highway. From the train station, it is only 25 km and takes about half an hour.

  • Check in to the hotel and spend the rest of the day acclimatizing and recovering from any jet lag.

Stay overnight in Lhasa.

Day 02

Potala Palace and Drepung Monastery Tour

  • Visit the famous Potala Palace, the cardinal landmark of Tibet and a masterpiece of Tibetan architecture. It was once home to the Dalai Lama and his government. Walking up the long steps is quite challenging, but it is worthwhile to leave your footsteps in the spiritual palace of the God of Compassion. The palace was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.

  • Proceed to Drepung Monastery, which was once the world's largest monastery. It was the official residence of the Dalai Lama before the completion of the Potala Palace and has suffered severe damage over the centuries.

  • Continue to acclimatize and alleviate jet lag for the rest of the day.

Day 03

Lhasa Cultural Excursion

  • To make it more convenient for our clients, we have arranged two shuttle buses a day, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. When purchasing your flight tickets, please consider the shuttle bus timing. Of course, if you do not want to wait for the shuttle bus, we can arrange a private airport pick-up and transfer for you, and this service costs USD 60 per time.
