Meet your driver at your hotel in Negombo and travel to Dambulla to discover the largest cave temple complex. The Dambulla Temple has five caves and 157 statues of the Lord Buddha, many paintings on the ceilings and walls that emphasise the artistic talent of ancient days. The history of the caves, rock and temple dates from the 1st century BC.
Head to Sigiriya to explore the 8th wonder of the world. The 5th century Rock fortress of Sigiriya, built by King Kashyapa, is a UNESCO world heritage site. The Rock itself has its unique identity due to its shape. The irrigational technologies of water gardens & archaeological technologies of the large lion carved at the entrance are precious as they still exist.
