Negombo - Mirissa
You will be picked up from your hotel early in the morning by your tour guide. Travel to Mirissa, which is situated on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. It is the closest point to the continental shelf and on the migratory route of whales as they move closer to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, primarily to breed.
When you reach there, see why Mirissa is one of the best places in the world to see blue whales. Although blue whales are the main attraction, if you’re lucky, you’ll have the chance to see a mix of amazing marine life. In recent years, super pods of Sperm Whales numbering over 30 individuals have been sighted.
You can also see Bryde’s Whale, Orca (Killer Whales), Risso’s Dolphin, Bottlenose Dolphin and Striped Dolphin, which are among the other species of cetaceans spotted a few times each season.
After the tour ends, you will be dropped back at your hotel in Negombo.
