The itinerary

Day 01

Kandy to Anuradhapura and Sigiriya

You will be picked up from your hotel in Kandy and transferred to Anuradhapura, which is approximately 3.5 hours away by car.
Explore Anuradhapura, the most important ancient capital of Sri Lanka. This UNESCO World Heritage Site was once the powerhouse of the ancient Sri Lankan kingdoms and is famous for its well-preserved ruins of ancient Sri Lankan civilization.
Transfer to Sigiriya, which is approximately a 1.5-hour drive away.

Overnight stay at a hotel in Sigiriya.

Day 02

Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Dambulla Cave Temple and Return to Kandy

Drive for 1.5 hours towards Sigiriya Rock Fortress.
Climb Sigiriya Rock Fortress, now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was once the palace and pleasure garden of King Kassapa.
Have lunch at a recommended restaurant and then visit Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This complex dates from the third and second centuries BC.
After the end of the tour, you will drive for approximately 2 hours back to Kandy.
