Saskatchewan Grasslands Birding and Wildlife Photography
Depart from Saskatoon at around 8:00 AM and drive through Saskatchewan, covering roughly 500 km round trip along highways and back roads.
Observe and photograph the unique birds and wild animals inhabiting Saskatchewan's spectacular grassland and riverbank habitats. Admire wildflowers in bloom as you hike over prairie trails.
You may encounter Mule Deer, White-tailed Deer, Coyote, Red Fox, White-tailed Jackrabbit, and Richardson's and Thirteen-lined Ground Squirrels. Moose, Pronghorns, and Long-tailed Weasels can sometimes be spotted here as well.
Listen to the beautiful songs of prairie songbirds that might include Sprague's Pipit, Baird's Sparrow, and Western Meadowlark.
Look for grassland birds such as Swainson's Hawk, Long-billed Curlew, Marbled Godwit, and Upland Sandpiper.
Watch for Pronghorn Antelope, Coyotes, and Ground Squirrels.
You will be dropped off back in Saskatoon at around 6:00 PM.
