• More info: The volcanic range spanning Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo is home to the critically endangered mountain gorilla. Tracking gorillas in Rwanda is safe and relatively accessible. At the latest count, there are approximately 1,000 mountain gorillas in the wild, with 604 in the Virunga Massif.

• Kigali: Named in 1907 by Dr. Richard Kandt, the first colonial resident governor of Rwanda, Kigali is surrounded by lush green hills and is referred to as the land of a thousand hills. From here, embark on a once-in-a-lifetime experience of tracking mountain gorillas in the Northern Province.
