Day 01

Arrival and Podgorica City Walk

Arrival at the airport (Podgorica or Tivat) or port (Kotor/Bar/Tivat). Accommodation in a 4-star hotel in Podgorica. City tour.

We will welcome you at the airport and then head towards Podgorica.

We begin with a panoramic sightseeing tour with a guide, after which we will head to the hotel.

Check-in at the hotel in Podgorica.

At an agreed time, we will start an easy walk through the city accompanied by a guide - approximately 2 hours.

We start the tour from Republic Square, the main city square. We will pass through Bokeška Street, known for its nice cafes and urban atmosphere, a favorite place for young people to go out. We will see the Millennium Bridge, which represents the visual identity of the city. We will visit Sastavci - Skaline - the oldest bridge in Podgorica, according to historical facts established during Roman rule. Then we continue to the Clock Tower and the Old Town, located in the very heart of Podgorica, which preserves a rich historical and cultural heritage.

The most beautiful example of architecture remaining from the Turkish period is the Clock Tower, which is a symbol of Podgorica. It still dominates the Old Town area with its height. After visiting the Old Town, we will head towards the Centre of Contemporary Art - Kruševac - the former winter mansion of King Nikola I Petrović. Then we continue our walk to the Temple of the Resurrection of Christ, the third largest Orthodox temple in the world. In the end, we visit St. George Church, which dates from the 9th-11th century and belongs to the oldest active Christian places of worship in Montenegro and beyond.

Back to the hotel. Free time. Overnight stay in Podgorica.

2
Day 02

Grlo Sokolovo Hike and the Circle Around Kuči

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive through the villages and serpentines of Kuči to the starting point of the hiking tour.

Elevation: approx. 1557 m

Track length: approx. 4 km (both directions)

Difficulty: Easy

Readiness: Small

Duration: approx. 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on readiness and breaks

Only a 40-minute walk from Kučka Korita, there is a viewpoint known as Grlo Sokolovo, located right on the border between Montenegro and neighboring Albania. From here, there is a unique view of the Cijevna Canyon, the Albanian settlement of Tamare, and the Albanian part of Prokletije, which leaves the observer breathless at any time of year. The tour is easy and suitable for all ages and fitness levels, so we recommend it as one of those tours that should not be missed.

During this hiking tour, we can take a break at a local traditional winery - optionally - where you can enjoy a tasting of high-quality wine. We can also visit the Marko Miljanov Museum - optionally - dedicated to the famous writer, military commander, tribal champion, and hero, as well as Medun - Meteon Old Town - optionally.

After completing the hiking tour, we continue driving through the "Circle around Kuči" with photo breaks at beautiful viewpoints.

Back to the hotel. Free time. Overnight stay at the hotel in Podgorica.

3
Day 03

Mrtvica Canyon Hiking Adventure

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out. Drive towards Mrtvica Canyon.

Altitude: approx. 586 m

Track length: approx. 18 km

Difficulty: Easy

Readiness: Small-Medium

Duration: approx. 5-7 hours, depending on readiness and breaks

With Monte Mare Travel, on this hiking tour you will enjoy the beauty of a canyon that is still not sufficiently explored, yet is becoming increasingly popular with tourists and true nature lovers. At the very beginning of the tour, at the entrance to the canyon, we will see a small stone bridge that Prince Danilo built in 1858 in honor of his mother, who came from this area. The bridge was named "Danilo's Bridge." Next, walking along a path that runs right beside the rock, we will reach the "Gate of Wish," made up of two rocks connected at the top. Here we will take a short break.

You will enjoy the view of a calm and clear river, glowing in bright blue and green colors that bring peace and simplicity to visitors. A story is connected to this gate: the fairy from Maganik will fulfill your wish if you throw a jackstone into the river. Just a few steps away, you can hear the great noise of sparkling waterfalls, the most attractive of which are White Nerini. You will notice the thick vegetation that makes this ambience special.

And that is not the end. A special attraction of this part is a narrow passage cut into the rock by the army in 1973, led by General Danilo Jauković. In this way, the two villages of Mrtvo Duboko and Velje Duboko were connected, and the locals called it "Danilo's Road." After passing along this route, also known as "Mrtvičke Beams," we arrive at Stone Beach, the end point of the tour. Here we will have a short break to rest. After visiting this sparkling river, rich in springs, waterfalls, and wild rapids, and after passing through the rock in a way that seems absolutely impossible when viewed from afar, you will feel completely fulfilled and happy. You will want to visit it again.

After completing the tour, we continue our journey towards Kolašin.

Check-in at an apartment/hotel in Kolašin. Free time. Overnight stay.

4
Day 04

Durmitor and Bobotov Kuk Summit Hike

Breakfast at the hotel. Drive to Durmitor with a short photo break at Đurđevića Tara Bridge.

Arrival at the starting point.

Start of the hiking tour.

Altitude: approx. 2,523 m

Track length: approx. 12 km

Difficulty: Medium

Readiness: Medium-High

Duration: approx. 5-7 hours, depending on readiness and breaks

This mountain hiking tour starts from the Sedlo bend, heading north with a mild climb. Already at the beginning, we will enjoy the beauty of the landscape as we pass grassy meadow trails and sharp rocky roads. We will stretch out beneath the rocks, after which we will enter the beautiful valley of Surutka, from where we can look up at the shape of our goal - Bobotov Kuk. On the way to the highest peak, we will find wells and refresh ourselves with drinking mountain water. Bobotov Kuk, together with No Name Peak (2487 m) and Damsel (Soa, 2440 m), forms the highest rocky ridge of Durmitor called Soa Heavenly, which means "The Underlay of the Sky."

We will enjoy the view of the Škrčka Lakes, called "mountain eyes," together with the rest of the Durmitor lake group, which includes a total of 18 glacier lakes. From the peaks of Durmitor, there is a wonderful view in all directions, which you will definitely capture in great photos.

Be a participant in this favorite mountain tour among tourists.

The tour is considered medium to heavy. The altitude difference from Sedlo to the top is 820 m. The final climb is technically more demanding - the last 20 minutes to the summit are rocky and require caution. However, the track has enough space to walk along its entire course, it is secured, and it allows for a safe step, so it is not risky despite being technically more demanding.

Return to the hotel/apartment in Kolašin. Free time. Overnight stay.

5
Day 05

Bjelasica Peaks and Mountain Lakes

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out. Drive towards the starting point of the hiking tour.

Altitude: approx. 2,117 m

Track length: approx. 11 km

Readiness: Medium

Duration: approx. 5-6 hours, depending on readiness and breaks

With Monte Mare Travel on this hiking trail, which starts from the ski slopes, you will enjoy the natural landscape of this region, the specificities of the flora, various trees, colorful meadows, and flowers. Upon reaching Zekova glava, we will have a view, as if in the palm of our hand, of the beautiful Pešića Lake. It is located between the peaks of Zekova glava and Crna glava (Black Head). Even though it is small, its beauty surpasses its size.

Bjelasica is also adorned by the Small and Large Ursulovačko Lakes and the Small and Large Šiško Lakes, which we will also visit. We will take a break in the ethno village of Vranjak, where you can enjoy the cafeteria and the tastes of traditional food, all within a natural rural ambience - optionally.

Visiting this mountain at any time of year cannot be unsuccessful. You will always admire it and its surroundings again.

The stairs to Njegoš's Mausoleum also lead through a tunnel in the mountain, and after a few minutes' walk, you arrive at the "sky under the clouds," at Jezerski vrh - Lake Peak - from where everything around you is spread out as if in the palm of your hand - approx. 1 hour.

Then we continue slowly to the Hunting Lodge, climbing to the old Austrian road, and from there along the straight old Austrian road to Ograđenica, where Spiridon Monastery is located. From Kosmač to Ograđenica, it is about a 2-hour and 30-minute walk. When we arrive, we will take a longer break.
