Hike Through Mrtvica Canyon to Stone Beach
Begin the tour at the entrance to the canyon, where you will see a small stone bridge that Prince Danilo built in 1858 in honour of his mother. The bridge was named "Danilo's Bridge". On this hiking tour, enjoy the beauty of this unfrequented canyon.
Walk along the path that runs right beside the rock to reach the "Gate of Wishes", made up of two rocks connected at the top. Here, you will take a short break. This gate is connected to the story that the fairy from Maganik will fulfil your wish if you throw a jackstone into the river. Just a few steps away, you can hear the great noise of sparkling waterfalls, the most attractive of which is "Bijeli Nerini".
Notice the thick vegetation that makes this ambience special. And that is not the end. The special attraction of this part is a narrow path cut into the rock by the army in 1973, led by General Danilo Jauković. In this way, the two villages of Mrtvo Duboko and Vejle Duboko were connected, and the locals called it "Danilo's Road".
Cover the passage known as "Mrtvičke Grede" and arrive at Stone Beach, where the tour ends. Here, you will have a short break to rest. See the sparkling river that abounds with springs, waterfalls, and wild rapids.
