6-Day Montenegro Sightseeing Tour with Tara Rafting and Skadar Lake

Arrival at the airport (Podgorica or Tivat) or port (Kotor/Bar/Tivat). Accommodation in a 4-star hotel in Podgorica. City sightseeing.

We will welcome you at the airport and then head towards Podgorica.

We begin with a panoramic sightseeing tour with a guide, after which we will head to the hotel for check-in.

At an agreed time, we will meet again and start an easy walking tour through the city accompanied by a guide, lasting approximately 2 hours.

We start the tour from Republic Square, the main city square. We will pass through Bokeška Street, known for its nice cafes and urban atmosphere, and a favorite place for young people to go out. We will see the Millennium Bridge, which represents the visual identity of the city. We will visit Sastavci, or Skaline, the oldest bridge in Podgorica, which according to historical facts was established during Roman rule. We will also visit the Clock Tower and the Old Town, located in the very heart of Podgorica, which preserves a rich historical and cultural heritage. The most beautiful example of architecture remaining from the Turkish period is the Clock Tower, a symbol of Podgorica that still dominates the Old Town area with its height. We then continue towards the Centre of Contemporary Art - Kruševac, the former winter mansion of King Nikola I Petrović. After that, we walk to the Temple of the Resurrection of Christ, the third largest Orthodox temple in the world. At the end, we visit St. George Church, dating from the 9th-11th century, one of the oldest active Christian places of worship in Montenegro and beyond.

Departure in the early morning hours, driving towards Šćepan Polje. Duration of the journey: approximately 2-3 hours.

Arrival at the camp, meeting with skippers and other rafting participants, followed by a traditional Montenegrin breakfast at the riverside restaurant, lasting approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

Preparation for rafting includes fitting neoprene clothing and footwear, safety belts, and helmets, including a set for a GoPro camera, and takes approximately 30 minutes. You can take cameras and mobile phones with you, as there is a safe waterproof bag in the boats where you can leave your belongings during the rapids and use them during breaks as well as in the quiet parts of the river.

Your adventure begins with a short and exciting off-road drive to the starting point of the rafting tour, Brštanovica, lasting approximately 40 minutes. Upon arrival, the skipper will give you all the instructions you need for rafting, so it is important to listen carefully and follow what he says. He will also continue to inform you before each rapid during the rafting.

Rafting with pauses for swimming and photography at the most beautiful places, including the unavoidable and most beautiful waterfall on the Tara, lasts approximately 3-4 hours. The Tara River seems to have white, restless water stairs with beautiful peaceful pools between the rapids, allowing you to rest, take photos of its unique landscapes, or try swimming in crystal-clear but very cold water.

Back to the camp. Traditional Montenegrin lunch with various dishes - gourmet, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dishes of your choice, plus an aperitif of homemade Montenegrin brandy - lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. Almost all products are of organic origin, purchased from local breeders and manufacturers.

Drive towards Budva - approximately 1 hour.

Arrival in Budva. Accompanied by a guide, you will see the Old Town, walk through its winding streets, and enjoy views of the late Middle Ages squares that form a whole with solid ramparts, towers, and city gates, as well as Orthodox and Catholic churches. Duration: approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

Drive towards Perast - approximately 45 minutes. Arrival in Perast. Enjoy an easy walk through this beautiful coastal town. Then take a boat ride to the island of Our Lady of the Rocks and visit the 15th-century church and museum. Total duration: approximately 1 hour.

Continue with a ride around the unique bay of the Mediterranean - Boka Bay - until we reach Kotor, about 30 minutes.

Arrival in Kotor. Enjoy a city walk accompanied by a tourist guide through the Old Town, where you can see its famous monuments and squares, including the Arms Market, Saint Tryphon Cathedral and square, Saint Luke's Church and square, and Cats Square. Duration: approximately 1 hour.

Lunch at one of the famous restaurants in the city, approximately 1 hour.

Drive towards Tivat, approximately 20 minutes.

Free time for a city tour and to explore the luxurious marina Porto Montenegro, approximately 1 hour.

Drive towards Kolašin along the Morača River Canyon, known as Platije. You will enjoy amazing landscapes, and we will make a photo stop to capture the beauty of nature. The drive lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

The jeep safari starts from the city center. We then go up to the ski centers at altitudes of 1450 m and 1600 m. We will make a short break in the ethno village of Vranjak, then continue to the peak of Zekova glava. We will reach the viewpoint over Pešića Lake, located between the peaks of Zekova glava and Crna glava, then continue to the spring of the Biogradska River, the viewpoint over Šiško Lake, and the Bendovac viewpoint, from where you can see the amazing Biogradsko Lake from a bird's-eye perspective, with the lake and surrounding mountains in the palm of your hand. The viewpoint is extraordinary. We then continue to Katun Dolovi Lalevića, where we will have lunch at a local household and enjoy domestic traditional homemade products. After that, we go down to Biogradsko Lake, a special tourist attraction, for a walk around the lake lasting approximately 1 hour, and then return to Kolašin. During this tour, you will enjoy every view and beauty of the landscapes, the specificity of the flora, the unique rainforest, and the wide variety of trees, flowers, lakes, and meadows.

The jeep safari lasts approximately 7 hours, including photo breaks.

Free time for sightseeing in Kolašin city center, approximately 1 hour. Even a short stay in this area will let you feel the benefits of an aerial spa. The mountain climate, altitude, clean air, and healthy natural food guarantee refreshment and recovery.

Drive towards Morača Monastery, approximately 40 minutes.

Arrival at Morača Monastery. Tour of the monastery, approximately 30 minutes. Many visitors describe the atmosphere in the monastery as something special. There is a story that the yellow stone from which the monastery was built was brought from the village of Tušina by a column of people, with the stone passed from hand to hand.

Drive towards Skadar Lake, approximately 30 minutes.

Arrival in Virpazar, a fishing village with charming stone houses. Enjoy a short walk and free time for climbing Besac Fortress, the most attractive viewpoint over Skadar Lake, or for having coffee at one of the restaurants, optionally, for approximately 20 minutes.

Start of the cruise. The cruise lasts about 2 hours. You will see fishing villages, cultural and historical monuments, the flora and fauna of the lake, and have the opportunity to swim in the lake.

After the cruise, enjoy lunch in an unrepeatable ambience, approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

Visit one of the traditional wineries in the 'homeland of grape' - the Crmnica region.

Wine tasting of three types of wine, approximately 45 minutes.

Continue the drive to the Old Town of Bar, approximately 30 minutes.

Visit one of the oldest archaeological sites in the world, followed by a visit to the Old Olive Tree. Total duration: approximately 1 hour.

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and enjoy some free time. Then transfer to the airport (Podgorica or Tivat) or port (Kotor, Tivat, or Bar).
