The itinerary

Day 01

Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat with Sunset on Bakheng Hill

The tour begins in the morning with a visit to the Angkor Thom temple complex with your Siem Reap tour guide. See the following attractions:

  • South Gate: the best-preserved part of the complex, this grand structure is lined with carved faces and figurines.

  • Bayon: a Khmer Buddhist temple believed to have been built around the 12th or 13th century.

  • Baphuon: a three-tiered temple, thought to have been built in the mid-11th century.

  • Royal Palace: built by King Suryavarman I and used continuously from the 11th to the late 16th century AD by the Khmer dynasty.

  • Phimeanakas: a Hindu temple built at the end of the 10th century during the reign of Rajendravarman and completed by Suryavarman I.

  • Elephant's Terrace: this terrace is believed to have been used by Jayavarman VII to view his returning victorious army.

  • Leper King's Terrace: the terrace of King Dharmaraja.

After a break for lunch, proceed to the Angkor Wat temple complex and enjoy the following experiences:

  • Angkor Wat: a Buddhist temple in Cambodia and the largest religious site in the world.

  • Sunset on Bakheng Hill: a breathtaking sight as you bring your magical day to a close.

Day 02

Ta Prohm, Banteay Srei, Pre Rup and Tonle Sap Floating Village

After breakfast, set out in the morning to visit the following sites:

  • Ta Prohm: the modern name given to a 12th-century Bayon temple. Originally, it was known as 'Rajavihara' or Monastery of the King.

  • Banteay Srei: a 10th-century Cambodian temple built in honour of the Hindu god Shiva.

  • Pre Rup: a Hindu temple built in the early years of 961 or 962.

After lunch, continue the tour to the following sites:

  • Fine Art School (Artisans D'Angkor): established with the aim of reviving the Cambodian traditional art scene.

  • Floating Village (Tonle Sap Lake): with floating eateries, homes, and a full-fledged market, this village is a popular tourist destination.
