Basseterre Historical Highlights and Island Sights

  • Pick up from the port or hotel in the morning.
  • Visit a number of historical highlights in the city of Basseterre:
    • The National Museum, which exhibits local history and cultural heritage.
    • Berkeley Memorial, erected in the centre of the Circus in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis.
    • Independence Square, where slaves were sold.
    • The War Memorial and various churches in the city.
    • Bloody Point, situated to the west of Challengers village. Legend has it that so much blood was spilt there that it ran for three days straight - hence the name Bloody Point.
    • Continue to Old Road, the rock carvings, plantations, through the rainforest, and on to the botanical garden, Romney Manor, and Caribelle Batik, where you will have half an hour to walk about.
    • Visit Brimstone Hill Fortress, Black Rocks, and the South-East Peninsula, where the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean meet.
  • Return to your ship, port, or hotel.
