- Visit the Palace of Fontainebleau or Château de Fontainebleau, one of the most beautiful chateau, 45 miles southwest of Paris by one hour by train. The most beautifully furnished chateau from the 16h-Century to the 19th, Marie Antoinette refurnished her states apartments. Her parade bedroom is the most beautiful one in France, as well as her boudoir with gold leaf of different colours on the walls. This is Napoleon's favourite chateau, where he abdicated early April 1814 in the courtyard.
