Discover Nepal's rich cultural and natural heritage on a 10-day journey through Kathmandu Valley, Pokhara, Lumbini and Chitwan National Park. Explore UNESCO World Heritage sites, ancient temples and historic Durbar Squares in Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur, then continue to Pokhara for Himalayan views, caves, waterfalls and Phewa Lake. Visit Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, before heading into Chitwan for jungle activities and wildlife encounters. This tour combines exquisite heritage, spiritual landmarks and memorable nature experiences across some of Nepal's most iconic destinations.

The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Kathmandu

  • Arrive at Kathmandu International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The rest of the day is free for you to explore this historic and vibrant city at your leisure.

Day 02

Kathmandu Valley Heritage Tour

  • After breakfast, depart from the hotel for a full-day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu, the "city of glory."

  • Visit Durbar (Palace) Square, the epicentre of religious and cultural life, filled with old temples, historical significance and glorious Newari architecture. Some of the sights include Kal Bhairav, Hanuman Dhoka, Taleju Temple, Kasthamandap and Kumari Ghar, home to the Living Goddess.

  • Afterwards, continue to Swoyambhunath Stupa, said to be one of the oldest Buddhist stupas in the world, majestically set high on a hill overlooking the Kathmandu Valley.

  • Proceed to Pashupatinath Temple, a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This massive temple complex sits along the banks of the holy Bagmati River. Only Hindus are allowed to enter the temple courtyard, while tourists can view the temple from the eastern side of the Bagmati River.

  • Later, reach Boudhanath, a Buddhist stupa said to be one of the largest in the world. This massive structure stands tall with four pairs of eyes facing the four cardinal directions, watching over the righteous behaviour of mankind and human prosperity.

Day 03

Patan, Bhaktapur and Drive to Nagarkot

  • Check out from the hotel after breakfast for a guided sightseeing tour of Patan, the city of Fine Arts.

  • Visit Durbar Square, Krishna Temple, Golden Temple (Hiranya Varna Mahavihar), and more.

  • Also visit the Tibetan Handicraft Centre, where you can see the art of carpet-making by Tibetan refugees.

  • Afterwards, set off on a scenic one-and-a-half-hour drive to Nagarkot and, en route, stop at Bhaktapur, the "City of Devotees."

  • Begin the tour in Bhaktapur with a visit to Durbar Square, the Golden Gate and the Palace of 55 Windows. Also see Lion's Gate, Nyatapola Temple, the tallest of its kind in Nepal, Bhairab Temple and the Pottery Centre.

Day 04

Scenic Drive to Pokhara

  • After breakfast at the hotel, begin the drive to Pokhara, enjoying scenic views of beautiful hills and the countryside lifestyle as you travel along the Trishuli River.

Day 05

Pokhara Sunrise and City Tour

  • Early at dawn, hike up to Sarangkot viewpoint to witness nature's ethereal light show as the sun rises over the Annapurna range, turning its peaks from white to gold.

  • After breakfast, go to see the deep and narrow gorge of the roaring Seti River.

  • From here, drive to Devi's Falls and continue to Gupteswar Cave and the Bat Cave.

  • In the evening, spend time relaxing by Phewa Lake and enjoy a leisurely row on its sparkling waters.

Day 06

Lumbini, Birthplace of Lord Buddha

  • Drive to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. The spiritual heart of Lumbini is the Maya Devi Temple, where Buddha was born under a Bodhi tree. Other sights in Lumbini include the Ashoka Pillar, Buddhist monasteries, the World Peace Pagoda and the Lumbini Crane Sanctuary.

Day 07

Drive to Chitwan National Park

  • Head to Chitwan National Park after breakfast, one of the best-managed parks in the world.

  • After lunch, enjoy various jungle activities such as an elephant safari, a jungle drive and a nature walk.

Day 08

Wildlife Exploration in Chitwan

  • Set off in search of wildlife, birds and rare species of flora and fauna in any of the following ways:

    • Take a jungle safari deep into the park in a four-wheel jeep or on foot.

    • Choose a more relaxing option with a canoe trip on the Rapti or Narayani Rivers.

    • Enjoy an elephant ride, which is much more thrilling than comfortable.

  • Moreover, head out to explore the surrounding Tharu villages.

Day 09

Drive Back to Kathmandu

  • After breakfast, drive from Chitwan National Park to Kathmandu, a journey of around 6-7 hours. Upon arrival, enjoy a free and leisurely evening.

Departure from Kathmandu

  • Get ready for your transfer to the airport for your final departure. The driver will drop you off according to your flight schedule.

  • Trip Detail: From the moment you arrive in Kathmandu, you will discover its colourful cultural history, evident in the sheer number of temples and festivals. The tour covers the cultural heritage sites of the Kathmandu Valley, illustrated by seven groups of monuments and buildings that display the full range of historic and artistic achievements for which the Kathmandu Valley is world-famous. These include the Durbar Squares of Hanuman Dhoka (Kathmandu), Patan and Bhaktapur, the Buddhist stupas of Swayambhu and Bauddhanath, and the Hindu temples of Pashupati and Changu Narayan. The journey then continues to Pokhara, famous for its splendid natural beauty as well as trekking and hiking. When the time comes to travel to Chitwan, you will understand why Nepal is considered the biggest natural museum in the world. Chitwan National Park has Sal forests that cover 70% of the area, along with about 600 species of plants and 450 species of birds. Nepal is also home to the only significant population of one-horned rhinos and other endangered species such as the Bengal Tiger, Gangetic dolphins and gharial crocodiles. Altogether, there are over 43 species of large mammals, 526 species of birds, 150 types of butterflies, 126 species of fish and 49 species of reptiles in this wonderful park. From Chitwan, the tour continues to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, which carries special importance for both Buddhists and Hindus and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
