Trip Detail

  • The new concept of homestay in Nepal Travel gives us an opportunity to experience a stay in an unspoiled village while living as a family member. This offers a chance to observe real Nepalese culture and tradition from close quarters and intermingle with the locals. Besides, any expenses made at that level directly contribute to the welfare of the local community, giving visitors a sense of satisfaction. Sirubari village is a totally unspoiled Gurung settlement set in the hills at 1700 m above sea level. The village is reached after a short drive and then a three-hour walk from Pokhara, Nepal's second most popular tourist destination, nestled beneath the snow-crested Annapurna Massif at an altitude of 820 m/2706 ft, 200 km west of Kathmandu. We will be welcomed into the community and invited to stay in the home of one of the villagers. The accommodation is simple but comfortable, with good bedding as well as clean toilet facilities. The food is delicious, and meals are taken as one of the family. Each night, entertainment is provided by the community; on one evening, this takes the form of traditional Gurung and Nepali dancing and singing. You can join in if you want. The living culture and tradition of the Gurungs, blended with their rich hospitality, make an unforgettable experience for anyone who visits Sirubari.
