Discover Historic Nafplio and Palamidi Castle
Meet your tour guide at the agreed-upon location and visit Three Admirals' Square in Nafplio.
Head to nearby landmarks such as the Courthouse and the Venetian Land Gate.
Proceed to Syntagma Square, crossing one of the town's narrow paved streets.
Make stops along the way to see noteworthy buildings, including the churches of Saint Spyridon and Saint George. Syntagma Square is the most popular part of the city and features several interesting buildings, such as the first parliament of modern Greece, the National Bank building, and the Museum.
Visit the Museum to see an interesting collection of exhibits dating from the Neolithic to the Byzantine period.
Walk towards the port, where you can take beautiful photos of the sea, with the fortified islet of Bourtzi visible on the horizon.
Take a car and drive towards Palamidi Castle, located just five minutes from the city centre.
Stop at the Lion of Bavaria sculptural group, created in the 19th century.
Arrive at Palamidi, enter the castle, and walk through its narrow passageways. Visit the bastions, the chapel of Saint Andrew, and the jail cell of the Greek revolutionary hero Theodoros Kolokotronis. You will also have time to take photos, as the castle offers a breathtaking view of the sea and the old city of Nafplio.
Return to the car and drive back towards Three Admirals' Square, where the tour ends.
