Enter the rich wilderness of Chitwan National Park, home to mammals, birds, reptiles, and water animals of many kinds. This 3-day safari combines wildlife experiences with cultural encounters, including a canoe ride on the Rapti River, an elephant safari, and a visit to a nearby Tharu village. Look out for Asian one-horned rhinoceros, crocodiles, deer, monkeys, and, if you are fortunate, the superb Royal Bengal Tiger. The itinerary

Day 01

Arrival in Chitwan and Tharu Cultural Experience

The staff will receive you upon your arrival at Sauraha Bus Stand, Tadi, or Bharatpur Airport (surcharge applies).
You will then be transferred to the lodge, where you will be offered refreshments and given a briefing on the lodge and its facilities. After receiving your programme for the day, your room will be allocated to you.
13:00: Enjoy lunch.
15:00: Take a village tour to a nearby ethnic Tharu village, where you will learn more about the life and lifestyle of the Tharus.
Visit the Chitwan National Park Visitor's Centre, where you can learn more about the history of the national park and its wildlife, and enjoy a sunset view from the bank of the Rapti River.
19:00: Attend a Tharu cultural dance presentation by the local villagers, in which you will also participate, or enjoy a slide show presentation covering almost everything about Chitwan.
20:00: Unwind with dinner.

Day 02

Canoe Ride, Jungle Walk, and Elephant Safari

06:00: Wake-up call followed by breakfast.
07:00: Take a canoe ride along the Rapti River. This is an excellent opportunity for bird watching and for seeing two rare species of crocodiles: the Marsh Mugger and the fish-eating Gharial. Enjoy a jungle walk, and on the way back, you can also enjoy views of elephant bathing.
13:00: Savour lunch.
15:00: Embark on an elephant safari. This is an excellent opportunity to see four different kinds of deer, rhinoceros, wild boar, monkeys, leopards, sloth bears, and, if you are lucky, the Royal Bengal Tiger. You may also encounter many other smaller mammals that have made Chitwan their home.
20:00: Unwind with dinner.

Day 03

Elephant Breeding Centre and Departure

06:00: Wake-up call followed by breakfast.
07:00: Visit the Government Elephant Breeding Centre.
10:00: Depart for your onward journey.

Chitwan Jungle Safari packages offer a rich wilderness ecosystem that includes mammals, birds, reptiles, and water animals of several kinds. The highlights of this park are the 500 Asian one-horned rhinoceros and some hundred nocturnal Royal Bengal tigers that live in the park's dense forests. You will discover a lost world of towering trees and twisting vines, of prehistoric rhinos and lumbering elephants, crocodiles, pythons, and deer; brilliantly coloured birds; and, if you are fortunate, the superb Royal Bengal Tiger. Sharing a home with these are other animals like rhesus monkeys, grey langurs, deer, leopards, wild cats, and more. Another important factor adding to the Chitwan experience is the colourful Tharu culture, their way of living, culture and tradition, and heart-touching Tharu dance. Here, you will do many activities like a jungle safari on elephant back, a jungle walk, a canoe ride, and much more.
Your safety is of paramount importance to the guide. They have the absolute authority to cancel the trip or change the itinerary when deemed necessary or when they have reason to believe your safety is at stake. Weather conditions, the health condition of a group member, natural disasters, and such can contribute to changes in the itinerary when travelling in remote mountainous regions.
